Odisha Public Service Commission invites applications for Recruitment to the posts of Assistant Agriculture Officer in Class-II (Group-B) of Odisha Agriculture and Food Production Service under Agriculture Department.

Selection Procedure:

The selection of candidates will be made on the basis of career assessment and Viva Voce Test. The Commission may short-list candidates for conducting interview by making a preliminary selection. The preliminary selection can be made either on the basis of evaluation of academic career taking into account the requisite minimum educational qualification or by conducting a preliminary written test.

Eligibility:

Age: Age should be between 21-32 yrs as on 1st August, 2011.

 

Education:

A candidate must hold a degree of Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from any of the recognized University in India.

 

Other Eligibility:

  1. The candidate must be a citizen of India;
  2. The candidate must be of (a) good moral character, and (b) sound physical and mental health, good physique and active habits and free from organic defects or bodily infirmities (except Physically Handicapped) so as not to create an impairment in the due discharge of duties;
  3. He/She must be able to speak, read and write Odia fluently and must have passed: at least an examination in Odia language equivalent to that of Middle English School Standard conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha ; or the Education Department of Govt. of  disha or any other Board or Council of Secondary Education approved by the Government of Odisha in support of passing of Odia Language Test (M.E. School standard);
  4. A person, who has more than one spouse living or in case of a woman candidate, if married to a person having one spouse living, shall not be eligible for appearing at the examination/interview :  Provided that the State Government may, if satisfied that such marriage is permissible under the personal law applicable to such person or there are other grounds for so doing, exempt any person from the operation of this rule;
  5. Government servants, whether temporary or permanent, are eligible to apply provided that they possess the requisite qualification and experience and are within the prescribed age-limit. They must inform their respective Head of Offices in writing regarding submission of their applications for this recruitment and obtain “No Objection Certificate”;
  6. If a candidate has at any time, been debarred for a certain period/chance(s) by the Odisha Public Service Commission or other State Public Service Commission or U.P.S.C. from appearing at any examination/interview, he/she will not be eligible for such recruitment for that specified period/chance(s);
  7. Only those candidates, who fulfill the requisite qualification & experience and are within the prescribed age limit etc. by the closing date of receipt of applications, will be considered eligible;
  8. Before appointment, a candidate must register himself/herself under the Odisha Medical Registration Act, 1961;
  9. A candidate must have rendered three years as Senior Resident/Tutor, by the last date of receipt of applications.

 

HOW TO APPLY:

  1. Application Form : Candidates are required to apply to the Special Secretary to the Commission 
  2. Forms can be procured from:
    Office of the Special Secretary, Odisha Public Service Commission, 19, Dr. P.K. Parija Road, Cuttack-753001 between 11.00 A.M. & 1.30 P.M. and 2.00 P.M. & 4.00 P.M. on any working day on cash payment of Rs.30
    By Speed Post/Registered Post by paying Rs.70 by Bank Draft/Pay Order drawn in favor of Special Secretary, Odisha Public Service Commission payable at any Scheduled Bank at Cuttack. The forwarding letter should be addressed to: the Special Secretary, O.P.S.C., Cuttack. Please mention full name and address of the candidate, advertisement number and name of the Post/Service advertised in BOLD CAPITAL LETTERS.
    The letters for application would not be considered if received after the last date. 
  3. The candidates may also download the application form and copy of long advertisement from the Website of the O.P.S.C., i.e. http://opsc.nic.in.
    The Un-reserved and S.E.B.C. candidates down-loading the application form will be required to pay Rs.80 (Rs.30 for application form + Rs.50 as examination fee) through Bank Draft/Pay Order/Treasury Chalan, at the time of submission of their applications.
    The S.C. /S.T. candidates downloading the application form will be required to pay Rs. 30 for the application form. The S.C. /S.T. candidates are exempted from paying the examination fee.
  4. Submission of Applications: Candidates must send their applications form by Registered Post/Speed Post/Courier Service to the Special Secretary, Odisha Public Service Commission, 19, Dr. P.K. Parija Road, Cuttack-753001. Application received after the closing date shall not be entertained. The candidates may also submit their applications in closed covers in the Office of Odisha Public Service Commission directly/personally on or before the last date of receipt of applications at the Counter on working days from 10.30 A.M. to 1.30.P.M. and 2.00 P.M. to 5.00 P.M. The closed envelope containing the application must be superscribed “Application for Assistant Agriculture Officers”. The candidates submitting their applications directly/personally at the Counter of Odisha Public Service Commission will be given proper acknowledgement receipt.
