Stage-I - Preliminary Examination

There is only one paper on General Studies The Question Paper is in Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) pattern. The total number of questions is 200. There is 1 mark for each Question with negative marking of half mark for every wrong answer. The duration of the examination is 3 hours.

Candidates who qualify in the preliminary examinations are admitted to the Main Examination.

The Essays are to be written on two topics out of four choices given on common topics and carry 50 marks each. Credit is given for effective and exact expression.

Paper III and IV in the main examination are one each from any two subjects to be selected from a list of approved optional subjects.

Combinations of subjects that are not allowed:      

      (a) Political Science and Public Administration.

      (b) Commerce & Accountancy and Management.

      (c) Anthropology and Sociology.

      (d) Mathematics and Statistics

      (e) Agriculture and Veterinary Science.

      (f) Management and Public Administration.

      (g) Of the Engineering Subjects, not more than one.

      (h) Medical Science and Veterinary Science.

The question papers in Optional Subjects are Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) with 200 questions in each paper and each question carrying 1 mark with negative marking of half mark for each wrong answer. 

Stage-III                     Interview - The Interview carries 100 marks.
