Assam PSC Plan of Examination

Combined Competitive Examination 

  • Preliminary Examination: (Objective Type) for the selection of candidates to the main examination
  • Main Examination: (Essay Type) for selection of candidates to the personality test
  • Personality Test: For final selection of candidates to various posts/cadres

Preliminary Examination

The Preliminary Examination consists of 2 (two) papers with objective type questions (multiple choice)

  • Each paper will be of two hours duration.
  • There will also be provision for reservation for SC, ST and Other Backward classes.

Main Examination

The Main Examination consists of 6 (six) papers.

  • The Examination is of conventional (essay) type.
  • First two papers will be of three hours duration and rest of the papers will be of two hours duration.

Interview/Personality Test: 200 marks

  • The candidates are interviewed by a Board which takes into account their academic career. The marks scored in the interview are added to the marks scored in the written examination (Main) and the rankings of the candidates are determined on the basis of the total marks obtained.
