SAS Exam Syllabus


General Intelligence & Reasoning:
Questions in this part will be on analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, problem solving analysis, judgement, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, verbal and figure classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, statement conclusion, syllogistic reasoning etc.

SAS Eligiblity


A candidate must be either:

(a) A citizen of India, or

(b) A subject of Nepal, or

(c) A subject of Bhutan, or

(d) A Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or

SAS Examination Pattern

The Written Examination for Subordinate Accounts Service (SAS) consists of three papers, each carrying 200 marks.



SAS Important Dates

  • Date of notification: 27th March 2010
  • Last date for receipt of application: 27th April 2010
  • Last date for receipt of application for candidates from certain states: 4th May 2010
  • Date of Exam : 26th June 2010 and 27th June 2010

Subordinate Account Service (SAS)

The Staff Selection Commission holds recruitment of SAS Apprentices in CGDA Examination.  The minimum Educational Qualification for it is a University Degree in Honours or MA/M.Sc./M.Com or Diploma of Chartered Accounts and Costs and Works Accounts from recognized institutes or organizations. The Examination comprises of written examination consisting of three papers followed by Interview.
