Twice as many girls have qualified for IIT-JEE this year compared to the last year. Looks like, this is appearing as a major trend in competitive exams. This year in the UPSC 2011 final selections, two out of top three positions have been bagged by female candidates.
This year over 1400 girls have qualified through IIT-JEE. Engineering has always been a male dominated profession and seeing the number of successful female candidates is a welcome change in our conservative society. Will the story repeat itself in the upcoming UPSC Prelims exam.
