New Indian Skill Development Service (ISDS)

India needs a lot of jobs for the youth population. The skill development initiative is intended towards this goal. This is the only way India can reap its demographic dividend. 

The cenrtal government has announced the creation of a new Group A Service, The Indian Skill Development Service (ISDS).

There will be a total of 263 posts in the service. There are 3 posts at Senior Administrative Grade level, 28 posts at Junior Administrative Grade Level, 120 posts at Senior Time Scale Level and 112 posts at Junior Time Scale level.

The recruitment for the positions would be through multiple avenues. About half of the positions at Junior Time Scale level are to be filled through the IES, Indian Engineering Services.

The officers are to be posted at the Directorate General of Training.
